We are gathered here today to talk about weddings. To the newly initiated, San Miguel de Allende is THE wedding capital of Mexico. With a parade on every street in Centro, at times this town never seems to run out of steam.
This issue is a bit personal for us, as we put together a surprise engagement for two of our favorite people over New Year's Eve in San Miguel. Complete with fireworks, close friends, and an abundance of flowers, it was pure magic. Cory & Lydia, we love you. And now we have a wedding to help plan!
Doing a destination wedding in a foreign country takes a certain amount of bravery. You're dealing with foreign currency, a different culture, and the added pressure of taking great care that your guests are comfortable.
In this issue of Luxepatriate, our good friend Caylee leads us through the Dos and Don'ts of getting married abroad, and we interview a few other folks who may be able to help you along your way. Lastly, we've compiled a non-overwhelming list of vendors, including professional wedding planners to cut through some of the guess work.
Cheers and Best Wishes,
Martha & Nicole
